Description: This set is a fairly typical menko set of this era, however, there are some nice drawings of space themed items on the back giving an idea of what children were interested in in the late 1950's. This set was printed right around the time of Sputnik and the manned US Mercury missions enveloping the world. This set has a really rare card of Maegashira Hanenishiki since he never made it out of the really low Maegashira ranks and retired from sumo after being in the top division less than 3 years. This is one of the last last known menko of Yokozuna Chiyonoyama as well!
